QFT is leveraging its 8 years of OFDMA expertise to deliver Qualcomm's third generation of mobile OFDMA technology, Ultra Mobile Broadband (UMB ). FLASH-OFDM is a ground breaking technology that delivers high peak data rates in 1.25 MHz of spectrum, provides low latencies, supports very fast handoff and is based on a flat IP architecture. QFT is building upon this OFDMA experience to develop the UMB base station ASIC and its reference design for infrastructure and test equipment vendors. This reference design reduces typical barriers to market entry and enables small and large OEMs to leverage QUALCOMM's extensive R&D experience with OFDMA-based technologies.
UMB represents our next generation of OFDMA air interface technology and has been designed from the ground up to deliver the mobility, high data rates, low latency necessary for a superior broadband user experience utilizing up to 20 MHz of bandwidth.
